SUMMARY:Qigong
DESCRIPTION:Gentle Qigong and breathwork practices to help you reset your nervous system\, release stress\, and reconnect to your energy. \n\n\n\n\nQigong (pronounced “chee-gong”) is an ancient Chinese practice that combines gentle movement\, breathwork\, and focused intention to support the flow of energy—known as “Qi”—throughout the body. \nOften described as “moving meditation\,” Qigong is designed to calm the nervous system\, improve circulation\, and restore balance to both mind and body. \nIt’s accessible to all ages and abilities\, offering a peaceful yet powerful way to reduce stress\, increase vitality\, and reconnect with your inner strength. \n— \nTuesdays & Thursdays 9:00am \n*no class in June or July* \n$20 \n— \nLed by Amy Hun\, her Qigong and breathwork sessions help you slow down\, breathe deeply\, and move with intention. \nAbout Amy Hun: \n“I’m a Michigan native and graduate of DePaul University in Chicago with a background in business and healthcare. But my true calling began over a decade ago when I shifted into holistic health—combining movement\, mindfulness\, and energy medicine to support lasting wellness. \nI’m certified in yoga and Qigong\, with additional training in Tai Qi. I bring over 15 years of experience in practicing and teaching Qigong\, breathwork\, and meditation. \nOver the years\, I’ve worked with children\, seniors\, and special populations including those with MS\, diabetes\, post-rehabilitation needs\, and women’s health concerns. \nToday\, I focus solely on Qigong and breathwork—offering simple\, gentle practices that help release stress\, restore energy\, and support the body’s natural ability to heal. \nMy belief is that true well-being comes from aligning the physical\, emotional\, and energetic self. Qi Rising was created to help you find that alignment—wherever you are on your journey.”

SUMMARY:Tracing Within: a Mindful Creative Process
DESCRIPTION:Explore your inner landscape through guided journaling prompts and expressive watercolor exploration. \n\n\n\n\nAbout the Process: \nEach session begins with a brief grounding practice to settle the mind and bring \nawareness inward. From there\, participants are guided through thoughtfully designed \njournaling prompts that encourage honest self-inquiry and emotional awareness. \nWriting by hand becomes a powerful tool for connection—slowing the mind\, reducing \nstress\, and creating space to access deeper insight. \nThe written reflection then flows into expressive watercolor exploration\, where \nparticipants are invited to translate their inner experience into color\, shape\, and \nmovement. This creative process serves as a form of integration—allowing thoughts \nand emotions to be processed\, softened\, and expressed in a more intuitive and \nembodied way. \nTogether\, this practice gently bridges thought and feeling—offering a way to move \nbeyond overthinking and into greater clarity\, insight\, and self-trust. The focus is not on \nartistic skill\, but on using creativity as a tool for awareness\, processing\, and personal \nconnection. \n— \nWednesdays from 10:00am-11:30am \n$75 for each individual session or $60 a sessions if you purchase all 12 sessions at once. \n$10 for watercolor journal (one time fee) \n— \nWhat Participants Can Expect \n• A guided\, step-by-step creative process each week \n• Mindfulness practices to support presence and self-awareness \n• Journaling prompts that encourage exploration without pressure \n• Introductory watercolor techniques woven into expressive practice \n• An emphasis on process over product—no art experience needed \n• Opportunities for optional sharing and connection \n• Practices to carry your experience into daily life between sessions \nWeekly Themes & Prompts \nParticipants are welcome to join individual sessions or commit to the full 12-week series\, which \noffers a deeper\, more cumulative experience over time. \nWeek 1: Coming Home to Yourself \nSlowing down\, arriving in the present moment\, and taking an honest inner inventory \nWeek 2: The Art of Noticing \nCultivating awareness without judgment \nWeek 3: The Inner Dialogue \nExploring self-talk and the voice within \nWeek 4: The Art of Letting Go \nExploring control\, resistance\, and the practice of surrender \nWeek 5: Emotional Landscape \nConnecting with and expressing emotions through color and form \nWeek 6: The Body as Guide \nListening to physical sensations as a pathway to awareness \nWeek 7: Stories We Carry \nIdentifying personal narratives and inherited beliefs \nWeek 8: Your Story\, Reimagined \nCreating space for new perspectives and possibilities \nWeek 9: Seasons of Self \nRecognizing internal rhythms\, transitions\, and cycles \nWeek 10: Creative Rituals for Everyday Life \nIntegrating mindfulness and creativity into daily practice \nWeek 11: Trusting Yourself \nBuilding self-trust and honoring inner knowing \nWeek 12: Integration & Reflection \nLooking back\, acknowledging growth\, and carrying insights forward \nAbout Tracey Waldroup \nTracey Waldroup is best known for her abstract works which convey a sense of mystery\, primarily through illegible handwriting\, buried under layers of acrylic paint and texture. The artist who is most influential in her current work is American painter Cy Twombly; his gestural writing conveys a sense of spontaneity that inspires her process. \nHer work is heavily indebted to Buddhist teachings which have carried her from a place of suffering and loss to a place of wholeness and healing. Having acquired the ability to start fresh after periods of upheaval\, she is fearless in her attitude toward life and making art. \nTracey teaches fearlessness in creating art and living life. After earning her BFA in Art Education and MA in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at Arlington\, she taught high school advanced placement art in Grapevine\, TX. She now teaches in Houston Texas and studies at the Glassell School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston under Brian Portman.

SUMMARY:Reiki & Restore
DESCRIPTION:Reiki & Restore \nMost Sundays at 11am  \nhttps://www.eventbrite.com/e/1986033760440?aff=oddtdtcreator \n\n\n\nRelease tension\, restore inner harmony\, and experience energetic renewal with Reiki Master Healer\, Chasity Ramsey. You’ll be guided into savasana\, where you’ll rest comfortably as Reiki energy is shared with the group to help calm the nervous & inspire inner peace & clarity. \n\n\nWhen the body is energetically aligned\, the mind softens\, the heart opens\, and a deeper sense of peace becomes accessible. This work supports restful sleep\, emotional balance\, stress & anxiety relief\, and a grounded return to self. Through this space of restoration and presence\, you will feel guided towards a deeper union with yourself. \n\n\n\n\nReiki Healing is an energetic healing practice used to promote physical\, emotional\, psychological\, and spiritual well-being. This universal healing energy was first accessed at the turn of the 20th century by Master Mikao Usui\, a devoted practitioner of Japanese Zen Buddhism. \nAbout Chasity:\nFor nearly a decade\, Chasity has devoted her work to guiding others toward deeper alignment\, presence\, and healing. As a Level III Usui Reiki Master\, Chasity’s practice centers on supporting the body’s natural ability to restore balance across the physical\, emotional\, and energetic layers of wellbeing. The body already knows how to heal\, it simply needs the space to soften and receive. Rooted in gentle\, intentional energy work\, Chasity’s sessions weave together Reiki\, chakra tuning\, and subtle sound healing to guide your nervous system into a deeply restorative state. Through this process\, Reiki energy is flowing through Chasity\, allowing the healing energy to go to areas in your body where it is needed to release physical\, mental\, emotional\, and spiritual blockages. \nThis is a donation based event! Come as you are\, pay what you can. \nhttps://www.eventbrite.com/e/1986033760440?aff=oddtdtcreator \n

SUMMARY:Women Who Run With the Wolves : Monthly Story Circle with Leila-Scott
DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nMyths & Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype \n\n\n\n\nJoin us for an ongoing monthly gathering as we journey through Women Who Run With the Wolves\, one story at a time. \nEach session\, we’ll explore a single myth or tale – reflecting together on its themes and how it speaks to our lives. We’ll continue *meeting month by month until we’ve made our way through the book\, allowing the process to unfold at its own natural pace. \nThis is a space for thoughtful conversation\, personal insight\, and reconnecting with instinct\, creativity\, and inner knowing. Whether you’re new to the book or returning to it\, you are welcome. \nWhen: *Monthly on the 4th Wednesday of the month\, beginning Wednesday\, May 27\, 6-8pm \n*Skipping July & August \nOpen to all who feel called \nCome as you are. Bring your curiosity. \nWomen Who Run with the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés uses myths\, fairy tales\, and folk stories from various cultures to help women reconnect with their “Wild Woman” archetype—their instinctual\, creative\, and powerful inner self. The book argues that this innate\, healthy\, and visionary part of a woman’s psyche has been repressed and that by understanding these stories\, women can reclaim their intuition\, power\, and wholeness. \nEach session is $15 \nhttps://www.eventbrite.com/e/women-who-run-with-the-wolves-monthly-story-circle-with-leila-scott-tickets-1987092769966?aff=oddtdtcreator \nFree street parking! \nAbout Leila-Scott M. Price MAOM\, L.Ac.\nLeila-Scott\, Co-Founder & Owner of The Center for Healing Arts & Sciences\, holds a Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine\, a degree in Human Organizational Development with a focus on the psychology of leadership from Vanderbilt University\, and certification in Trust-Based Relational Interventions (TBRI). TBRI is an attachment-based\, relationship-oriented\, trauma-informed approach to human growth and development\, which allows Leila-Scott to meet her patient’s emotional needs as they arise during acupuncture sessions\, groups\, and retreats. \nLeila-Scott is also trained as a gender equity & reconciliation facilitator with Gender Equity & Reconciliation International. Many years ago\, her journey led her down a path toward deep understanding of masculinity and femininity – both as they pertain to the genders (socially\, spiritually\, sexually\, in partnership dynamics\, etc.) as well as how they appear irrespective of gender (aspects of masculine/feminine energies which do not discriminate based upon gender and even have no relationship whatsoever to gender). This adventure had already begun with the foundational “Yin (typically understood as feminine) & Yang (typically understood as masculine)” approach to understanding nature within the Chinese medical model as well as the Tao\, but took her to texts diving into pre-antiquity historical & archaeological findings\, quantum physics\, mysticism & spirituality\, embryology\, zoology\, sociology\, and much more. Attempting a full understanding of these aspects has become a full-time spiritual practice for Leila-Scott\, who calls herself a devoted student of Life and the nature of Nature. She is currently developing a curriculum in an attempt to share her findings and help others find understanding themselves. \nAdditionally\, she has completed multiple long-form yoga trainings which deeply explore the anatomy of mind\, body\, spirit relationship and also holds an International Culinary & Hospitality diploma from Le Cordon Bleu\, Paris & London. Her yoga experience allows her to invite her patients to move in a way that meets them where they are mentally and physically and her culinary degree informs her ability to demystify holistic nutrition & food prep for her patients. Leila-Scott feels strongly that medicine\, movement & meals are three things that should further our wellbeing\, not make us feel worse. \nShe leads women’s support groups and retreats\, and spear-heads the food therapy & movement components of the practice ~ as well as our product development and strategic brand collaborations. Leila-Scott M. Price has been featured in PaperCity Magazine\, going into depth about her services and what they have taught her in the process\, and was honored to be visited a second time by PaperCity featuring a video recorded interview. She has also been featured in the Houston Chronicle to discuss auricular acupuncture and ear seeds\, ShoutOut Houston for her spiritual approach to mothering and being a business owner\, and The Pillars Magazine of Episcopal High School featuring The Center for HAS.

SUMMARY:Community Acupuncture on the last Sunday of each month\, 1PM - 3PM
DESCRIPTION:We are very excited to announce that we will be hosting once-monthly community acupuncture on the last Sunday of each month. \nCommunity acupuncture is performed in a group setting\, seated in chairs\, and includes a group meditation. \nHow do I know if community acupuncture is right for me? \n\nYou are looking for lower-cost acupuncture treatment.\n\nCommunity acupuncture is offered at a reduced-cost (almost 70% off the price of a private acupuncture session)\, making it a good option for those whose insurance does not cover acupuncture or for those who find the cost of routine private acupuncture to be less accessible. \n\nYou feed off group energy.\n\nThe group setting of community acupuncture has a unique benefit in its communal nature. The energy of a group of people joining together in the same room to heal together can be quite powerful. \n\nYour primary goal of treatment is to reduce stress or improve emotional well-being.\n\nGroup acupuncture works well for stress\, anxiety\, depression\, PTSD\, grief\, addiction\, and more. Traditionally and historically\, community acupuncture is used universally for all types of stress\, trauma\, and emotional challenges. \nCommunity acupuncture may not be a good fit for you if: \n\nYou prefer privacy during your sessions.\n\nDue to the community nature of these sessions\, intakes are completed one-on-one\, but not in a private room. If you prefer not to discuss personal health matters in front of others\, you may be prefer private acupuncture sessions. \n\nYour primary goal is to address back pain or pain symptoms on the back part of the body.\n\nYou will be fully clothed and seated in a chair for these sessions and your acupuncturist will not have access to your back. If you are seeking to address back pain or pain on the back side of your body\, you will be better suited for private acupuncture sessions. \n12 participants max. Sign up now.

SUMMARY:Weekly Drum-Guided Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Join us every Monday at 6 PM at the Center for Healing Arts and Sciences for a unique meditative journey that blends the ancient traditions of drumming and flute playing\, fostering a serene and reflective atmosphere. Benefits include achieving a calm presence\, deepening your connection with your inner life\, reducing anxiety\, and consciously engaging with your inner world. \nCome and be part of a supportive community where music leads the way to inner peace and self-discovery. \nThe Drum-guided Meditation is lead by Dr. John Price. Explore music and drumming as meditation. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER » \nKindly ensure you arrive on time by 6pm\, as the doors will close promptly at 6:10 PM. Unfortunately\, we will not be able to accommodate late arrivals after this time.
