SUMMARY:Weekly Drum-Guided Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Join us every Monday at 6 PM at the Center for Healing Arts and Sciences for a unique meditative journey that blends the ancient traditions of drumming and flute playing\, fostering a serene and reflective atmosphere. Open to all levels\, this 45-minute class invites you to explore the power of music as meditation. \nWe begin with a few minutes of silent reflection to set the tone for an immersive experience. As the gentle sounds of the drum and flute guide you into a waking trance state\, you’ll find yourself engaged in active imagination\, akin to dreaming while awake. This practice eases the overwhelming nature of silent meditation\, making it accessible for everyone. \nOur sessions conclude with a shared community experience\, offering a space to connect and reflect on your journey. Benefits include achieving a calm presence\, deepening your connection with your inner life\, reducing anxiety\, and consciously engaging with your inner world. \nCome and be part of a supportive community where music leads the way to inner peace and self-discovery. \nThe Drum-guided Meditation is lead by Dr. John Price. Explore music and drumming as meditation. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER » \nKindly ensure you arrive on time by 6pm\, as the doors will close promptly at 6:10 PM. Unfortunately\, we will not be able to accommodate late arrivals after this time.

SUMMARY:Tracing Within: a Mindful Creative Process
DESCRIPTION:Explore your inner landscape through guided journaling prompts and expressive watercolor exploration. \n\n\n\n\nAbout the Process: \nEach session begins with a brief grounding practice to settle the mind and bring \nawareness inward. From there\, participants are guided through thoughtfully designed \njournaling prompts that encourage honest self-inquiry and emotional awareness. \nWriting by hand becomes a powerful tool for connection—slowing the mind\, reducing \nstress\, and creating space to access deeper insight. \nThe written reflection then flows into expressive watercolor exploration\, where \nparticipants are invited to translate their inner experience into color\, shape\, and \nmovement. This creative process serves as a form of integration—allowing thoughts \nand emotions to be processed\, softened\, and expressed in a more intuitive and \nembodied way. \nTogether\, this practice gently bridges thought and feeling—offering a way to move \nbeyond overthinking and into greater clarity\, insight\, and self-trust. The focus is not on \nartistic skill\, but on using creativity as a tool for awareness\, processing\, and personal \nconnection. \n— \nWednesdays from 10:00am-11:30am \n$75 for each individual session or $60 a sessions if you purchase all 12 sessions at once. \n$10 for watercolor journal (one time fee) \n— \nWhat Participants Can Expect \n• A guided\, step-by-step creative process each week \n• Mindfulness practices to support presence and self-awareness \n• Journaling prompts that encourage exploration without pressure \n• Introductory watercolor techniques woven into expressive practice \n• An emphasis on process over product—no art experience needed \n• Opportunities for optional sharing and connection \n• Practices to carry your experience into daily life between sessions \nWeekly Themes & Prompts \nParticipants are welcome to join individual sessions or commit to the full 12-week series\, which \noffers a deeper\, more cumulative experience over time. \nWeek 1: Coming Home to Yourself \nSlowing down\, arriving in the present moment\, and taking an honest inner inventory \nWeek 2: The Art of Noticing \nCultivating awareness without judgment \nWeek 3: The Inner Dialogue \nExploring self-talk and the voice within \nWeek 4: The Art of Letting Go \nExploring control\, resistance\, and the practice of surrender \nWeek 5: Emotional Landscape \nConnecting with and expressing emotions through color and form \nWeek 6: The Body as Guide \nListening to physical sensations as a pathway to awareness \nWeek 7: Stories We Carry \nIdentifying personal narratives and inherited beliefs \nWeek 8: Your Story\, Reimagined \nCreating space for new perspectives and possibilities \nWeek 9: Seasons of Self \nRecognizing internal rhythms\, transitions\, and cycles \nWeek 10: Creative Rituals for Everyday Life \nIntegrating mindfulness and creativity into daily practice \nWeek 11: Trusting Yourself \nBuilding self-trust and honoring inner knowing \nWeek 12: Integration & Reflection \nLooking back\, acknowledging growth\, and carrying insights forward \nAbout Tracey Waldroup \nTracey Waldroup is best known for her abstract works which convey a sense of mystery\, primarily through illegible handwriting\, buried under layers of acrylic paint and texture. The artist who is most influential in her current work is American painter Cy Twombly; his gestural writing conveys a sense of spontaneity that inspires her process. \nHer work is heavily indebted to Buddhist teachings which have carried her from a place of suffering and loss to a place of wholeness and healing. Having acquired the ability to start fresh after periods of upheaval\, she is fearless in her attitude toward life and making art. \nTracey teaches fearlessness in creating art and living life. After earning her BFA in Art Education and MA in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at Arlington\, she taught high school advanced placement art in Grapevine\, TX. She now teaches in Houston Texas and studies at the Glassell School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston under Brian Portman.

Her work is grounded in the belief that each person holds an innate capacity to heal\, and that therapy offers the space\, tools\, and connection needed to access that potential. \nHer clinical journey has taken her through a wide range of settings\, including community mental health\, rehabilitation centers\, residential treatment\, and private practice\, where she has worked with children\, adolescents\, adults\, and families. Nicole draws from a rich blend of evidence-based modalities such as EMDR\, DBT\, CBT\, and Internal Family Systems\, while also integrating holistic approaches like mindfulness\, somatic therapy\, transpersonal psychology\, breathwork\, and trauma-informed yoga. \nIn addition to one-on-one work\, Nicole has facilitated numerous groups and workshops centered around holistic healing\, nervous system regulation\, and mind-body connection. These group experiences are designed to create shared spaces for deep inner work\, community connection\, and spiritual growth. \nNicole’s therapeutic approach is person-centered and existential\, with a foundation in attachment theory and trauma-informed care. She works with clients navigating trauma\, anxiety\, chronic stress\, life transitions\, and spiritual exploration\, supporting each person in creating a life that feels meaningful and aligned. \nOutside of her clinical work\, Nicole has a deep personal passion for yoga\, meditation\, and breathwork\, which have profoundly shaped both her life and her therapeutic philosophy. These practices shifted her own worldview from a strictly linear\, Western lens to one that honors the interconnectedness of mind\, body\, and spirit. This transformation informs her work today\, allowing her to bridge clinical skill with spiritual insight. \nNicole is passionate about creating a warm\, grounded\, and collaborative space where clients can explore their inner world\, heal old wounds\, and step into a more connected and empowered version of themselves.

SUMMARY:Qigong
DESCRIPTION:Gentle Qigong and breathwork practices to help you reset your nervous system\, release stress\, and reconnect to your energy. \n\n\n\n\nQigong (pronounced “chee-gong”) is an ancient Chinese practice that combines gentle movement\, breathwork\, and focused intention to support the flow of energy—known as “Qi”—throughout the body. \nOften described as “moving meditation\,” Qigong is designed to calm the nervous system\, improve circulation\, and restore balance to both mind and body. \nIt’s accessible to all ages and abilities\, offering a peaceful yet powerful way to reduce stress\, increase vitality\, and reconnect with your inner strength. \n— \nTuesdays & Thursdays 9:00am \n*no class in June or July* \n$20 \n— \nLed by Amy Hun\, her Qigong and breathwork sessions help you slow down\, breathe deeply\, and move with intention. \nAbout Amy Hun: \n“I’m a Michigan native and graduate of DePaul University in Chicago with a background in business and healthcare. But my true calling began over a decade ago when I shifted into holistic health—combining movement\, mindfulness\, and energy medicine to support lasting wellness. \nI’m certified in yoga and Qigong\, with additional training in Tai Qi. I bring over 15 years of experience in practicing and teaching Qigong\, breathwork\, and meditation. \nOver the years\, I’ve worked with children\, seniors\, and special populations including those with MS\, diabetes\, post-rehabilitation needs\, and women’s health concerns. \nToday\, I focus solely on Qigong and breathwork—offering simple\, gentle practices that help release stress\, restore energy\, and support the body’s natural ability to heal. \nMy belief is that true well-being comes from aligning the physical\, emotional\, and energetic self. Qi Rising was created to help you find that alignment—wherever you are on your journey.”
